Chapter 80: Trouble

Ares and I had breakfast together, then started to talk. "Where should we hold the wedding?" I asked. Ares thought for a few seconds. "Victoria. I don't have many relatives to come visit, and you seem to have a lot of friends." He chuckled. I smiled. "This Sunday?" I looked into his eyes. "You read my mind." He laughed, then turned on the television. It was a widescreen one, quite luxurious. We were just in time to see an emergency announcement. The reporter was shaking wildly in front of a screen with several flying spirits in view and a lot of trees around. "What the......" I stood up. Suddenly, one of the spirits flew right into the camera's line of sight. I closed my eyes. When I opened them again, the camera was on the ground, pointing at a headless body. "Oh man......" I gasped. Ares was staring at the background. "That place is actually near here." He whispered, then sat up suddenly. "Dray lives there!" He shouted, then ran for his sword and armour. "Where you go, I go." I smiled at him. I was itching to test out the Genesis Tempest's power.

Our height drew attention from passer bys, but my appearance drew the most attention. "Are you an elf?" Someone even had the nerve to ask. I ignored the guy and dashed towards the affected area, with Ares leading the way. There was no way we would let a member of our guild die like that. Ares signalled that we were near, and I unclipped the Genesis Tempest. It was as light as a feather for a sword of that size. I smiled, and unclipped my Buster Sword. Yes, both swords were clipped on at once. I held a sword in each hand. Ares eyed my swords, then drew his own. I smiled at him and we dashed on together.

When we got there, there were still a handful of spirits flying around. And...... There were headless bodies all over the place. I heard a crossbow string twang and turned towards the source. Dray was Strafing the spirits, killing each one with a single Strafe. It was only a matter of time before he was overrun though. "DRAY!" I shouted, lunging forward. His ears twitched, and I saw him smile. "You're late." He shouted, never taking his eyes off his targets. I jumped in the air and did a whirlwind slash, taking about 6 of the spectres out. Suddenly, all of the spirits were homing in on me. "What the hell......" I whispered and ducked a spirit with a mouth hanging wide open. I could see blood inside, and a single strand of human hair. The horror......

I clipped the Buster Sword back onto my shirt and held the Genesis Tempest up into the air. "Heavenly Lightning!" I roared. White lightning instantly shot down from the sky, impaling spirits unlucky enough to get in the way. A handful survived, and they kept coming at me. Dray was no longer a target, but he loosened bolts on the run. I thought about using that. But if it failed...... I'd probably die... Oh heck, Ares would protect me. I closed my eyes and concentrated, forming a glowing spiritual barrier around myself. "Reality, bow before me." I whispered. A cross-shaped padlock appeared in my sight, and the Reality Key was inserted into it and turned. The padlock disappeared.

All of the spirits vanished in an explosion of white magic, and the damage done by them repaired itself. All the headless people regained their heads and stood up. Everything in just 3 seconds. I felt exhausted. Ares ran in my direction as my legs crumpled. "I'm tired......" I moaned. Ares helped me up after sheathing his sword, then he unsheathed it again, laying me gently down on the ground. I saw the reason. A single, behemoth-sized spirit fire was floating in the air. A recognizable form was taking shape inside it. I could see...... the vague outline of a monster no one liked to fight. "Holy......" I gasped. The Horntail had come back.

And it was green coloured. Chaos.

"Ares...... Dray... run..." I groaned, sticking my sword into the ground for support. I couldn't use my powers now, not right after recovering from a full 3 second usage of the Reality Key. A cold breath blew into my face, and saliva dripped onto my head. This Horntail wasn't like the one we had defeated last time. This one had slitted eyes, green skin and was twice as bloodthirsty. "No." Ares stood firm, helping me up. I felt his hand touch my chest, but now wasn't the time to worry about that. "I'll handle this......" I whispered, then looked straight into the Horntail's center head's eyes. I could see the bloodlust in them. "Just go..." I panted. "
Phoenix, give me strength......" I whispered, weak. A phoenix cry sounded, then two flaming wings shot out of my back, staying there only for a few seconds, followed by a fierce fire that engulfed my entire body. I felt rejuvenated, but I knew this would only last an hour at maximum. "Archangel. Dark Dragon. Everyone. Lend me your support." I thought. My arms burst into black flames. When the flames cleared, they were in skins of black dragonskin. My entire body radiated a white glow. "Symmetrical balance in the world...... One element always has a mirror element. Darkness and The Light. Now, let's see what you can do together." My mouth twisted into a smile.

My
Archangel wings burst out of my back. This time, they were dragon-like, but still white. And flaming. I had called on the power of the three separate spiritual entities in my body. The Phoenix, Dark Dragon, and Archangel. I knew my body wouldn't be able to take the stress for long, so I resolved to make this quick. My entire body burst into golden flames in the shape of a multiple winged hybrid dragon-phoenix. Even the Horntail reared back slightly. The clock was ticking. The fight had started.
