Chapter 81: Chaos I let out a battle cry, but it came out of my mouth as both a phoenix cry and a dragon roar. Soaring into the air, I flew towards the Horntail and took a mighty slash at it's centre head. The blow simply resounded off with a 'ping' sound, leaving the centre head unfazed. I cursed and flew up to dodge a gust of wind from the right head. "O mighty gods of the heavens, lend me your strength!" I whispered, holding the sword up. My ultimate spell would be enhanced by the power of the sword. "Judgement Of The Gods!" I roared, bringing the sword down and pointing straight at the Horntail. One single massive pillar of light blasted down from the sky, engulfing the entire Horntail. When it disappeared, I gasped. "Did you do something?" The centre head laughed. What in the world...... An attack like that should have done at least some damage...... But... If this Horntail could take it, that meant that...... Oh man. I guess I bit off more than I could chew. This Horntail's level could be twice mine. It could far exceed the S-ranks. Not good...... But where did a monster this strong come from? I couldn't beat it unless I could perform another sacrificing spell, but there was no guarantee that it would be worth it. The tail suddenly lunged forward so fast, even I didn't have time to dodge it. I was flung back into a house. It crumbled and I stood up. Ares and Dray were trying to attack the beast, but Dray's Snipe skill couldn't even pierce the armour. Piercing the armour...... Would Hurricane be able to do it? I clipped the Genesis Tempest back onto my shirt and summoned the Archaeion. It's red dragon eyes were blazing with power. "Come forth, All of a sudden, something impaled me through the stomach. I bit back the pain and turned around. There was nothing there but a string of green energy. "Sh!t..." I cursed, then another energy string pierced through my right shoulder. I vomited blood. I couldn't move anymore. The energy strings seemed to hold me in the air, and I gasped for air. Three more of those strings were hovering in the air. I closed my eyes. I never thought I'd die like this...... Excruciating pain shot through my entire body as the energy strings shot through my knees and my left shoulder. Totally immobilized and having taken major damage, I felt the energy from the three beasts fade away. My body fell limp and I felt myself losing consciousness. "You will make a splendid sacrifice for the Master......" "No......" I muttered as I saw the Horntail close its claws around the immobilized Artemis and disappear. Dray was staring at the beast. I clenched my fists tighter. "Assistant Master......" Dray whispered. I turned around and saw Fury and Lightning. "We were watching the whole thing. We've lost her..." Fury mumbled. "Not yet. I'm going to find her. And when I do, the Horntail will wish it never kidnapped Artemis... I swear." I said, looking to the sky. It was cloudy, and would start raining soon. I turned my head towards the others. Grim determination was visible in their eyes. "Hey, did you say 'I'?" Lightning stood forward. "There's no I in team!" Dray shouted. I smiled. "Let's go bring her back!" I yelled. The emergency cellphone I left at the house was a creation from a member of the guild. It was capable of communicating with the entire guild all at once, but was only to be used in an emergency by my decree. "This IS an emergency." I whispered, hitting the Call button on the phone and yelling into it, "This is Ares! The Assistant Master has been kidnapped! If you want to help, gather at my house in Leafre!" Now, we would just have to wait. There was more than one master of scouting in the guild. Also, Artemis's relatives would definitely hear this from Jullian. I smiled. The guild had a total of 200 people. Even the Horntail couldn't stand against that many people. Just one hour later, a crowd of 50 people were already assembled in my house. I had to use the cavern under my house to accommodate the guild. Soon, I spotted Artemis's sister running up the side. That was fast. "What happened to her?" She demanded. "A green Horntail abducted her." I sighed. "Green Horntail?" A silver-haired person walked up to me. "Yes. It's much more powerful than a normal Horntail. Even she couldn't beat it." I explained, then noticed Kyrios in the crowd. He looked anxious, as did everyone else. All of the Dragon Knights in the guild had blackened arms, but Kyrios was the strongest of them all. He had become best friends with Artemis, and as such, would be wanting to save her more. I dispatched a number of the guild's Shadowers to try and pick up Artemis's trail. Fury was among them. As expected of them, they came back with results pretty fast. Magical residue left over from the Horntail's warping pointed at a location somewhere near the entrance to El Nath's dead mine. I looked towards the crowd in the cave. The entire guild was here now. I smiled. Even the Horntail can't take the simultaneous attack of more than 200 people at once. I booked one entire ship for the guild to travel to Orbis on, paying over a million mesos in the process. The ticketeer was especially surprised when the entire guild appeared and lined up to board the ship. The dock attendant at Orbis was even more surprised. It wasn't often that a guild Master booked an entire ship. We rappelled down the side of The scouting party led the way towards a seemingly abandoned castle in the middle of the woods. Of course, we all knew it was all but deserted. Everyone readied their weapons as I stood forward and pushed the gates open. They slid open without a creak, further enhancing the creepiness of the place. I strode up to the massive doors and pushed them open after a quick peek through the space in between the doors. Unknowingly, I walked in on a couple of gargoyles having a feast on zombie flesh. I stared at them and they shrank back. "Out of my way." I said. They didn't need any further orders and immediately scrambled backwards. One tripped over it's own feet comically, but I resisted the temptation to laugh. Artemis took priority. The interior of the castle was humongous, as if it had been built over a crater. One massive hall in the center, with corridors branching off to other rooms. The hall looked large enough to hold a Horntail, which, I now knew, would appear in here. Dray, who had been with me, had already ran off to get the others into position around the hall. In a matter of seconds, everyone was ready and hiding behind whatever cover they could find. The only problems I saw were the occasional Dark Knight's spears or pole arms sticking out. ...... I woke up to find myself in a beautiful field of flowers. I was wearing a white gown, which contrasted my long, ankle-length black hair greatly. Who was I? Why was I here? Across the field, I could see a podium on which four people were resting. Each and every one of them was wearing a white gown exactly the same as mine. Only one person stood out though. She had 10 angelic wings, a horn on her forehead, flowing silver hair, and glowing white skin. She was also beautiful beyond imagination. The air felt peaceful. Suddenly, I remembered. My name was Artemis, bearer of the four mystical keys and the Genesis Tempest. I quickly checked my belly. The mark was still there. I heaved a sigh of relief and started to run towards the |
