Chapter 74: Thoughts I tried using the powers of the Illusion Key, but I could only maintain illusions for 10 seconds at least. I wondered how the Bandit kept them so long. He probably used it to steal money from other people, so he probably had a lot of time to practice with it. Also, right after the 10 seconds I maintained the illusion, I would start feeling dizzy. It was a major drawback. I flipped open the book of legends and found a page I had never seen before. The page showed a picture of the mark of the four keys, and another big one at the bottom showed the weapon. It resembled a massive sword, even larger than my Buster Sword. Under it, were the words 'Genesis Tempest' I closed the book and stared at the mark on my belly button. Just two more to go now...... The Reality Key would be one of the hardest to get, if it had fallen into the hands of a person. I sighed and laid back on the bed after taking off my clothes. I was used to sleeping half-naked, as most of the time when I was travelling, I had to sleep in hot areas. Sometimes I even fell asleep on the water. The ex-owner of the key had strangely died after I punched him in the face, and had been thrown out of the house. Mei Ling's diagnosis showed brain concussion. What a weakling...... I didn't mind killing bad guys, the world could do with less evil. Alexis opened the door and walked in. "What happened to you back there?" I asked. "The world just started... swirling... then I saw your dead body on the ground......" She started crying. I got up, walked to her, and patted her gently on the back. She cried into my bosom. "Torture by illusion......" I mumbled. I felt her tears stream down over my breasts, and over the Time Key's mark. The mark tingled for a second, then I collapsed, writhing. It wasn't due to pain though...... It was as if my body acted of its own accord! Had the mark been stimulated? "Artemis!" Alexis kneeled down beside me and shook me. I felt the feeling lift, and I got to my feet. "What happened?" She asked me. "N...nothing... My legs just crumpled for a second there." I replied, not wanting her to get worried about me. I felt a little guilty lying to her though...... She frowned and looked over me. "You're going to sleep in THAT?" She inquired. I nodded. "I'm used to sleeping like this." I said and reclined on the bed. I wondered how fast I'd grow from then on. The keys would normally choose a monster with powers reminiscent to their own power. The Time Key had been on Papulatus, as it was one of the few monsters related to time. The Illusion Key might have been on Captain Latanica, from the Singapore area. Captain Latanica was a ghost specialized in using illusionary attacks. The Singapore area was one of the few places built to look like a place in the human world. The Dimension Key...... Now this key would be hard to find. It was hard to find a monster with dimensional powers. As for the Reality Key, it was obvious where it would be. The S1-ranked demon. The Horntail. Its existence defied reality itself. A monster of that size wouldn't be able to support its own weight. Even I hadn't been able to defeat the Horntail yet. The Time Key's powers were dangerous to use there, as I would get killed before I even managed to muster the concentration needed to utilize the key's powers. Then again, The Horntail was a demon from another dimension. Was it possible? Two keys on a single monster? Yes it was...... I placed left hand gently on my right breast, and my right hand on my belly. I already had 2 keys. If the other two were indeed on the Horntail, I'd be able to get the Genesis Tempest just by killing it. It wouldn't be so simple though. Even though Alexis and Roy were almost at level 200, I saw a lot of guilds trying to fight the Horntail back when I was training at Leafre's Dragon Nest. Each one came out, battered, bruised, and close to death. Each guild had at least 6 Bishops participating in the fight. None came out alive. The Horntail stood undefeated, only equaled in this feat by the Feudal Lord of the Ninja Castle. I had been to the Ninja Castle before, and it reminded me of an anime I used to watch. When I was in the human world, that is. I felt a tear streak down my cheek. I hadn't seen my foster parents for years now...... Then again, what would they say if they saw a 2 metre tall woman walk in on them? The thought sounded stupid, even in my head. I opened my eyes and stared up at the ceiling of the room. It was morning now. Alexis was still asleep peacefully beside me. I smiled and got off the bed, tucking the blanket around her. I quickly dressed myself, but I noticed that my black shirt was stretched slightly more than before. I had anticipated this. So emotional stimulation of the key was what the book meant. I slipped downstairs and noticed Kagome making breakfast. "You're early." I remarked, taking a seat and stretching my long legs out. "Couldn't sleep." She replied, her eyes on my belly. She was looking at the mark of the Illusion Key. "I think I know where the other two keys might be." I said. She jerked, then noticed her toast was smoking. I chuckled and placed a finger on where the Time Key's mark should be, concentrating. A bubble of distortion enveloped the toaster, rewinding time inside. Of course, only I knew that. A second after the distortion appeared, the toast wasn't smoking any more. Kagome simply gaped. "Don't make me waste another few seconds of power." I sighed, then strode over to the toaster, ejecting the bread into the air and catching it neatly with a plate. Just a few seconds, and I felt weakened. "So thats......" She gasped. I nodded and took my seat again. |
