Chapter 66: Another Side of Artemis

This poison was of a highly dangerous type, and if released into a person's body, would contaminate all blood in less than a minute. Kon's injury was okay, less than a minute had passed since he got scratched, but I was already beyond that. At this point, I would die in an hour if I didn't get a suitable antidote. All my years of experience in potion-making was useless, the materials needed weren't around. The antidote I gave Kon was my only bottle too, but it only cleansed the actual human body, not the bloodstream. Wait, I couldn't lose hope. If this poison was indeed a Fidelo creation, they must have an antidote around somewhere. However, I could barely stand, let alone fight.

"Alexis......" I moaned and struggled to my feet. "Yes?" She propped me up. "Antidote...... Fidelo.... have.....somewhere...." I groaned. She got the message. "Probably in the research lab." Kon said and ran for the elevator. "No.... I....must...protect...ARGH!" I vomited purple blood on the ground. "Alexis...... Can....I..." Alexis put me down. "use...your...body...." I moaned. I meant to use a mind transfer technique that would allow me to temporarily take control of another person's body. Only the mind was transferred, meaning I couldn't use my own heavy equipment. I COULD use the weapons the opposition's body could carry though. "Yes." Alexis nodded. I took a meditating position the best I could and closed my eyes. I muttered some words silently, and opened my eyes. I was looking down on my own body.

"Did it work?" Alexis's voice asked. "Yeah." I replied and rummaged in the pockets of my mindless body's pants. I found the revolvers and removed the seal. "I'm ready." I stood up. I was in Alexis's body now. I quickly loaded the bullets and c0cked the gun. I also split the Buster Sword in half and took one half. The entire sword was too heavy for Alexis's body.

I put my limp body on my back and carried it to the elevator. "We'll have to protect my body." I grunted. "Won't be easy. There'll be more of those monsters." Kon said. "If my actual body dies, I'll die too." I gritted my teeth and pushed the elevator button. "Research and Development Floor." The loudspeaker announced after a few seconds. I pushed open the door. "Too easy." I smirked and stepped through. There were no monsters here, only harried scientists packing stuff up. I grabbed one by the scruff of his neck. "Where's the antidote!?" I demanded. This guy was weak, he spilled his guts through wobbling lips. The antidote was in a corner.

"50 more minutes." I said and winced. The pain from my body was starting to get to me. "20 more minutes and I'll faint." I panted. "Better hurry then." I lugged my limp body over the floor, then broke into a run as I saw a cauldron full of bubbling liquid. I could tell from the smell that this was the right antidote. However, the poison in my body could no longer be cured by drinking it. I would have to be dunked. I quickly threw my body into the bubbling liquid and waited silently. "Break!" I commanded and closed my eyes. I felt a strange euphoric sensation, then blacked out.

"Ugggh, my head......" I rubbed my head as I got to my senses. Artemis's mind had left my body now. I stared at her body in the cauldron. Colour was returning to her skin, it was working! Suddenly, I sensed a presence behind me and whirled around, still holding Artemis's revolvers and half of her Buster Sword. More of those monsters were here. And they were drooling. AND these ones were equipped with turtle-like shells on the back. This was not going to be easy. All of a sudden, there was a hand on my shoulder and I looked up. Artemis was up! "Can I have my revolvers back?" She asked in a cute voice. Huh? I hesitated for a second, then handed her the revolvers. I noticed her hair had turned blonde, and her hairband had fallen off.

Artemis instantly caught the revolvers and started blasting away at the monsters. Suddenly, a clicking sound issued from her revolvers. She jolted her hips, then the bullet pockets on her belt flew open and 12 bullets bounced out. She whirled around, then started blasting again. What? When did she reload? Wait...... Just now the bullets bounced out...... Wow. She had whirled around with her revolver chambers open and caught the flying bullets in them. That wasn't something everyone could do! I noticed that a flap on her blouse had opened up, and part of her breasts were exposed. She was slipping some bullets into her cleavage for some reason.

One shot of Artemis's Ice revolver and the monsters froze. Another shot of the Fire one, and they exploded. Her voice seemed to have changed. Hold on, this wasn't Artemis...... Even if she did train so much during those 3 years, she wouldn't be able to reload like that. Every six shots, she was jolting her breasts and making her bullets bounce out, catching them in the air with the open chambers of her revolvers. "Who're you?" I asked. "Are you talking to me?" She asked in her cute voice. "Yeah." I replied. "Rushuna." She aimed a pistol behind her and took out an incoming monster without even looking at it. Right in the head too. Rushuna? Where'd the real Artemis go?

"Where's Artemis?" I asked Rushuna. "Oh, she's sleeping now. Every time she uses the mind transfer technique and returns into her own body, her original mind is too tired to control her body, and she becomes vulnerable. During those times, she picks one of her split personalities to control her body. I'm one of those. Her other personalities all have different levels of weapon mastery that surpass the capabilities of her original mind. As you can see, I'm best with revolvers." She explained, sending another group of monsters to the other world. "I see." I got up. "She can also change personalities in the middle of a battle depending on her needs." Rushuna explained further and disappeared, reappearing behind a particularly large monster. I saw her take something from her weapons pocket. "Point Blank Range Shooting Style, Six Soul Star Shot!" She shouted and rammed the object into her Fire gun, which was in turn, rammed into the monster's shell. The entire monster exploded, sending green blood flying everywhere.

"Amazing......" Kon gaped, watching Rushuna jump around the place, blasting monsters to death. Suddenly, the shooting stopped. "Aww, I'm out of ammo!" Her cute voice rang through the room. You gotta be kidding me...... She was in the middle of a big fight, and she was still so cheerful. All the monsters charged on her. "Kon!" I shouted and jumped. He nodded and followed me, throwing money all over the pack of monsters. He clasped his hands into a seal and shouted, "Mesos Explosion!" All the coins exploded, taking out some of the injured monsters. "Nice one!" Rushuna's voice came from behind us. We jumped and turned around. "Rushuna the Grenadier, pleased to meet you." She smiled. When did she get behind us? I noticed that her eyes were yellow too. Kon's attack had fatally injured most of the monsters and killed some. "Wish you brought that out earlier." I gestured at his smoking hands.
