Chapter 62: The New Artemis

"What happened to your Blue Armis anyway?" Alexis asked when I walked downstairs. "It's too small for me to wear, so I left it in my backpack." I replied. "Need new clothes?" She raised an eyebrow. "I'm okay with the ones I have now, it's fine." I shook my head. My long black hair swished around behind me. "They're a little revealing, you know." She mumbled. "I like it that way." I smiled. "You've really changed." Jakito climbed out of the trapdoor to the swimming pool. "The book helped a lot by the way!" I grinned, holding up a book.

I realized that the only garment I would need to buy was a swimsuit. The one I had now was way too small for me, it barely covered my hips. Plus, it wasn't the colour I liked. "Anything interesting happen on your side?" Alexis inquired. "Had a little trouble with the occasional demon popping up out of nowhere, but once they look at my demon form, they go scampering back to their parents." I smiled. "What's your level now anyway?" Kagome asked. "300, never thought I'd break through the 200s." I replied. Her jaw dropped. "You guys?" I asked. "Yep, a few small-caliber demons popped up a few times. Nothing we can't handle though." Alexis replied, smiling.

"Any news about Saevio?" I asked, halfway down the swimming pool trapdoor. "Nothing yet." Alexis sighed. "Oh." I mumbled and jumped the last few rungs. I walked into the changing room and changed into my old swimsuit to take a dip. The water felt good, splashing against my skin. I streaked through the water with a perfect breaststroke, legs kicking the water so fast that a small mist formed around my feet. I was tall enough for my chest to reach above the water level while I was standing normally. I hadn't had a swim like this for a very long time......

When I climbed out of the swimming pool cave's trapdoor, I noticed Mei Ling examining my Buster Sword. "What are you doing?" I asked. She continued pondering the giant sword. "This sword..... I think I could boost up its attack power a little." She said and started heaving the sword to her lab. "Let me help." I smiled and picked up the sword with one hand. "You're stronger." She remarked as we descended the swimming pool's trapdoor ladder again. She opened the door to her lab and I put it on a table. "Oh yeah, it's magically sealed so only I can use it or modify it. Hold on." I placed my hand on the sword's blade. A rune appeared out of the metal and shattered. "There." I smiled.

Later that day, I went out to look around the city. Kerning had been rebuilt ever since the Dark Angel's attack. I heard from Lacus that Ellinia had sent a time reversal squad over. Still, I felt a little guilty, for my body had been used as the host body of the then-vicious demon. The Fidelo Needle was still standing, and it seemed to have been reinforced. The city was crowded with a neverending stream of Kerning Party Questers, and I found myself being pushed with the flow, to the Party Quest area.

I arrived in the Kerning Party Quest area to see a few maplers tripping over their feet. Someone wearing beginner clothes hailed me over. "Lulz, hacker hack until level 300. Imma report chuz unless you train me." He snickered. I sent the annoying idiot sailing into what appeared to be an illegal store nearby with a swift kick to the stomach. After that, the crowd gave me a wide berth. Another person hailed me and I walked over, wondering what he could possibly be asking me for. This guy received a bodyslam into the ground for asking me to sleep with him. The crowd gave me a wider berth and some people closed in to observe the unconscious sicko, lying in a small crater.

After I bought a new swimsuit and hung around the marketplace a little, I headed back to the house. By now, it was already getting dark, so I decided to cut through some dark alley shortcuts. I noticed two men in a drunken brawl, and a bit later, a man and a woman making out on the street. On the street! Naked! Hmph, those people make me sick. If they wanted do stuff like that, they should have done it indoors, for goodness sake. I rounded a corner as fast as I could, and accidentally bumped into a man about as tall as me, and muscular too.

"Watch where you're going, you b!tch!" The man snarled at me and pushed me out of the way. I quickly reached my hand to my side pocket and grabbed the guy's hand. "Nice try, buster." I whispered in his ear and sent a needle from my breast pocket into his spinal cord. He instantly buckled down. "I've just temporarily paralyzed you, it's only going to last for 2 hours. But, seeing what you just tried to do......" I advanced on him. Suddenly, there was a puff of smoke and the guy was replaced with a steel girder. "Replacement Technique. This guy's smart." I mumbled and reached my hand to my breast pocket for another needle......

All of a sudden, I was on the ground, breathing hard and with something heavy sitting on my midsection. The man had appeared out of nowhere! "Ninja skills are awesome." He whispered and held a thumb to my chest. A blue mist enveloped it and the mist turned into a sharp blade! "Like I'd let you." I snorted and tried to lift my leg up to kick him in the back. I couldn't. "Oh yeah, I pricked the weak point in your hips with your needle. You can't move your legs." He smiled and placed a heavy hand on my chest. I lifted my arms up, despite the weight of his legs pinning them down. He was good, but I was better. "Zen, Seal of The 20 Monks!" I shouted and started jabbing at strategic points in his body with my fingertips, counting off the number of hits. Every single weak point in his body had at least one jab delivered to it. His limp body collapsed off mine and I got up , breathing heavily. I looked at my blouse. His Chakra knife had managed to poke a small hole in it.

Swearing, I cleared the energy blockage to my lower torso and got up. The ninja had been jabbed to unconsciousness by the technique I had just used. That technique had been taught to me by a monk while I was training at Mu Lung Garden. It utilized focused energy at the fingertips to quickly jab into an opponent's body. Those jabs had to be very precise to hit the weak points in the body. If done correctly, the opponent's body would be immobilized for half a day.

I ran back home, not wanting to encounter any more bad guys. The hole in my blouse gradually opened a larger, diamond-shaped hole that exposed part of my chest. I smiled. Maybe I'll keep it that way and trim the edges a little.
