Chapter 92: The Final Battle (Part 2)

I rolled aside as the Ragnarok sent an energy beam from it's tail sting at me on to get hoisted up into the air by a bird-like creature. I turned around to look at it and I did for a few seconds before realizing it was Silfa! "Like my Harpy form?" she smiled. A row of white teeth showed. "Runeblade Storm!" shouted Alexis from below and a gust of wind blew Silfa away. Alexis caught me as I fell towards the ground and set me down safely.

"Let's just try to use Centurion Mode against it first." suggested Alexis. I nodded and braced myself for the transformation. Nothing happened. "I smell an advanced spell blocker in the air." the Demon Dragon noted. "We can't transform!?" Alexis backflipped over the Ragnarok's tail. "Yep. This type of blocker is ineffective against certain spells though. Those spells must require a huge amount of mana to perform, with an exception. The sacrificing spell." the Leviathan explained. I froze and got hit by an energy beam from the Ragnarok's right eye. I flew backwards into a building constructed of glass and steel.

"Artemis!" Alexis ran over to me, but Silfa cut her off. "Where are you going?" she laughed. Alexis stepped backwards and brought her Kotetsu down on Silfa's head. Silfa dived aside and kicked Alexis. "Argh!" Alexis grunted and brought her foot up. She landed a direct hit on Silfa's buttocks and sent her flying over her head into the building behind her. "That's gotta hurt." the Leviathan remarked. A feather from Silfa's wings fluttered down.

Artemis vs DeathLord......
As I slowly got up, I spotted a figure charging towards me. It was the Minotaur! I jumped aside, narrowly managing to dodge it's sword. "It's just you and me, Dark Dragon." it growled. "Bring it on." I drew back the Archaeion-Red Viper combination bow's string. A dozen arrows materialized on the string and I let go. The arrows flew out with a formation shaped like a four-pointed star towards the Minotaur. It's eyes widened in horror and it brought its sword up to block. Unfortunately for it, most of the arrows made it past and I scored a direct hit on its arms. It collapsed to the ground, writhing in pain as I had managed to hit its legs as well.

"Too easy." I breathed and walked over to the Minotaur's body. I placed my hand on a horn on its head and closed my hand around it. I pulled. The Minotaur fainted. "I see you've been studying the book." the Demon Dragon remarked. "Pulling the Minotaur's horns will make it faint. Good thing I did." I smiled and turned to face Ragnarok.

Alexis vs Silfa......
"Ugh......" Silfa stirred in the wreckage of the building she had crashed into. "How did you like my kick?" I grinned at her. "Not... bad......" she groaned, trying to get to her feet. I reached for her head and clapped her lightly on her temples. Instant unconsciousness. Heheh. I ran towards Artemis and grabbed her hand. "Now, for you, Ragnarok."

Artemis & Alexis vs Ragnarok...... (finally)
"You hope to defeat me without using your Inner Beasts? Fat chance." the Ragnarok roared, trying to sweep us off our feet with its tail. I jumped over it as it came while Alexis ducked. "Artemis...... I don't think we can beat him without the sacrificing spell." she whispered in my ear. "Me too. Look at his scales!" I mumbled. The Ragnarok's scales seemed solid, too solid for my arrows to pierce through. I launched one all the same. It bounced off with a 'ping' sound.

"Huh?" Alexis stared at the Minotaur and I turned to look at it too. It's sword was vibrating and so was Alexis's Kotetsu! "Kidousu and Kotetsu were originally forged as a pair, hence both look alike and the names are almost similar. A bearer using both swords will benefit greatly from their power." the Leviathan recited as Alexis walked dreamily over to the sword. She picked it up with her left hand and the vibration instantly stopped. Her swords changed colour to pure gold.
