Chapter 91: The Final Battle (Part 1) I spotted something small scuttling across the ground towards our house and I ran out to check it. It appeared to be a small scorpion. "If you want to duel me, go to your real world." Saevio's voice droned out of it and the scorpion disintegrated. "What the heck was that!?" Alexis came running out of the house. I think she spotted the scorpion from upstairs. "My real world......?" Artemis mulled over it for quite a while. The truth hit me like a brick. "Demon Dragon...... Can the Dark Scorpion travel through dimensions?" I asked. "I know what you're thinking. We'd better go as soon as possible." the Leviathan replied. I shook Artemis awake; she was taking a quick nap. "We'll have to go to your real world to beat Saevio......" I explained to Artemis as we packed essentials for the trip. She grabbed a new quiver of red arrows and slung it over her shoulder, twanging the string of her Red Viper on the way out the door. "Look, I don't even know my real world!" she protested. "No matter. Just let the Demon Dragon take over your body for a while." I sighed. She nodded and closed her eyes. When she opened them again, they were pitch black. "I am liking this female body." she remarked, her voice slightly layered with the Demon Dragon's deep voice. A few minutes later, we entered the dimensional portal that the Demon Dragon had created. The world swirled red and black as we passed through. "I don't want the others to worry about us." I had said before we left. We hadn't told the others. "HOLY SHYT!!!" someone screamed. Artemis and I leapt out of the exit to the transfer tunnel to see a crowd of people running around in panic. "So this is my real world......" Artemis muttered. A gigantic scorpion was terrorizing a nearby city full of buildings similar to the ones in Kerning City. It was obviously Ragnarok, and he was accompanied by the Minotaur, a strange bird-like creature hovering a few metres off the ground, Hellhounds and Death Angels. "Oh my god......" I breathed. The entire city was ablaze and we quickly jumped aside as a car flew past us, the occupants screaming their heads off. A sign reading, "Welcome to New York City" hung lopsided on a signpost. There was another car impaled on a nearby flag post; I wonder how it got there? "So, Ivan, Alexis, you have come." Ragnarok said in a deep booming voice. A series of memories shot through my head the moment I heard it speak and I fell to the ground. "Artemis, you ready?" Alexis asked. I got up, nodded and summoned the Archaeion. "Time for a little something I learned." I smiled, placing my Red Viper on the Archaeion's hilt to form a "+" shape. The Red Viper sparked for a brief second and changed colour into black and white. |
