Chapter 82: Deadly Encounter

The Fidelo Corporation? I never thought I'd see those guys again! This time they were my target though. I crawled on the ground towards the main door of the building. Surprisingly, the mobile suits from last time were still hovering around the pinnacle. I was dressed in black tights. The sliding door opened as two men walked out, chatting about women. I sneaked in behind them as the door closed to find a dozen ceiling-mounted guns pointing my way. "Useless." I muttered and held my palm up. A bolt of lightning shot out and short-circuited the guns, leaving them hanging harmlessly from the ceiling.

Almost immediatly, two guards ran out from a nearby room. "Who're you!?" they shouted and pointed rifles at me. "Your nightmare." I replied coolly. They started to stare at me. Their souls floated out of their mouths and their bodies toppled to the ground lifelessly. I sensed a presence behind me and whirled around. A group of guards were on the ground, souls in the air. "Nice try." I wagged my finger at them as the souls flew towards me. All of a sudden, more souls floated out of a nearby corridor. "Huh?" I glanced at the new ones. They were real, no doubt about it. I got my answer a few minutes later when I walked into the security room. A screen was looking at the lobby where I had been just now. "I see." I mumbled and started to unbutton my clothes. The souls floated around me, seemingly eager to enter my body.

"Well, at least I get to beat them up." I thought, rounding a corner. The next thing I knew, a beam shot out of nowhere and hit me. I feigned a scream of pain and toppled to the ground, knowing more guards would come running. They did, and stared at me for a few seconds. I heard someone say, "She's sexy!" before more souls floated into the air. I smiled and pulled myself up. Sexy was precisely what I wanted to...... I really need to stop thinking these thoughts!

"The Fidelo Corporation!? Artemis is there!?" I got up. "Yes. I sense a strong presence of spiritual energy in that building." the Leviathan replied. I picked up the Kotetsu and grabbed a Kerning City return scroll, ripping it in half. I appeared in Kerning City, smack outside the warehouse district, where I knew many thugs made their home. I had better be careful.

I noticed a gym on my little walk through the building and went in. A number of female and male staff were exercising and heads turned. "Nighty-night," I waved at them. Souls flew into my chest and buttocks. "You know, it wouldn't be hard for you to get a modeling career." the Akasha Charm remarked. I noticed an indoor swimming pool and walked towards it. Bodies were floating on the water, unconscious. "Might as well have a refreshing swim." I thought and jumped in.

I raced through the dark alleys of the area with a bunch of men chasing after me. "Why did I have to teleport here!?" I sighed and jumped over an oil barrel. There was a *thump* noise and I looked back to see some of the thugs flat-faced on the ground, apparently having tripped over the barrel. Haha.

I shook the water out of my hair and gave the 'borrowed' swimsuit a litle pat. I snapped my fingers and my tights reappeared on me, on top of the swimsuit. However, there was a pretty large hole in it. "Ah well, at least its better for me to be exposed to collect souls." I shrugged and walked out of the gym. A sign saying, "Control Room" was pointing to the right so I proceeded that way. "Carmen Fidelo, you shall pay for your crimes." I thought.

Finally, I reached the Fidelo Corporation's building. The robots were still hovering around so I sneaked in. There was telltale evidence of Artemis having been here, for bodies were lying all around the place. I took off around the building to look for her. I found a sign labelled "Control Room" and instantly knew she was going to head there. "Just hope I'm not too late!" I mumbled.

I walked out of the control room, patting my chest gently. Carmen Fidelo just had her soul stolen. When I turned towards the entrance, I found Alexis staring at me.

"Stop it, Artemis." I said clearly. "The Artemis you know is not here. Now, give up your soul or I will be forced to do battle with you." Artemis replied. Tears emerged from my eyes and I unsheathed the Kotetsu. "I may have no weapon, but I'm not helpless!" she shouted and disappeared. "What!?" I looked around. I spotted a gleam of light in the reflective wall in front of me and I ducked. Artemis tripped over me and hit the wall with a sickening crunch. "Not bad." she got up and wiped blood off her lower lip. "I don't want to kill you." I said, advancing towards her.

I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my stomach and I coughed out blood. The image of Artemis in front of me fizzled and disappeared, leaving the real person smack in front of me with a fist in my stomach. I swallowed a white pill and felt the pain disappearing. Good thing I had Daniel buy some for me. Suddenly, guards appeared behind me and started to stare at Artemis. She smiled as their souls flew into her chest. "Seems like you won't be able to move as easily now." I looked at her. Her chest was almost as wide as the corridor! "Oh?" she looked at herself and her eyes widened in horror. "It's nothing, I can still fight." she replied and lunged for my throat. I spotted a gleam of light on her buttocks as I ducked the attack. Could it be a second Akasha Charm!?

I got up and ran towards Artemis. She raised her arms in front of her, supposedly to block, but I jumped over her head and clapped her temples. Bam, instant unconsciousness. "I need to figure out how to get the charms out of her......" I thought and placed my hand on her chest. Maybe Purge would work... "Purge." I said. Light bathed my hands and I could see something faint shining inside her. "Try this. Ethereal Hands!" the Leviathan thought. My hands turned half-invisible and I found that I could reach into her.

"I will not be removed so easily!" a shriek echoed through the corridor and Artemis's eyes opened. Her hand snapped towards mine just as I grasped the Akasha Charm. She then pushed my hand towards myself. "What!? I thought you'd regain control once it was out of your body!" I gasped. "There is a second Akasha Charm inside me, so it won't be that easy!" she screeched and twisted my hand. The Akasha Charm fell out of my fist and onto my chest. Uhoh.

Nothing happened.

"Huh?" Artemis stared at me, aghast. "I'm...not feeling so good..." the Leviathan suddenly said. I quickly grabbed the charm and threw it into a wall. It shattered into a million pieces and souls started to float out of Artemis's chest. "No! Come back!" she reached for the souls. "Now, for the other one." I smiled. "Yeah, take it out." she suddenly said. I looked at her and reached my hand into her again. The second charm was in my hand when I pulled it out and I stabbed the Kotetsu into it. A bloodcurdling scream cut through the air and it shattered, releasing more souls out of Artemis's buttocks.

"NOOOO!!!" the Abyssal Pianus clutched the skull mark on its head in pain. There was a stab mark on it. "Damn you, Siren!"

"Welcome back, Artemis." Alexis smiled at me. I heaved a sigh of relief and got up. "Thanks." I smiled. "You really need to do something about your chest size. No clothes I have can fit over it." I remarked. "Stupid Akasha Charm." she grumbled. I looked back to see a few guards stirring. "We'd better get outta here." she muttered and tried to run. She tripped over a guard. "We'd better do something about your chest first. I wonder what the Fidelo lab has?" I grabbed her hand and bashed the stirring guard on his skull. He fainted.

"Hmmm...... Supersizing Ray, you're already too big...... Breast-growth serum, you gotta be kidding me!" I looked at a bunch of labelled machines on shelves. "Strange gun...?" Artemis spotted a gun. It was the exact same one that had turned him into a girl! "I think we'd better keep it." she remarked and slid it into a pocket on her pants. "Hold it!" a voice came from the door and Artemis whirled around. A man holding a rifle was standing in the doorway. "Hey, wanna try out the gun?" I called over to her. "You bet!" she replied and fired a ray at the guy. He vomited on the floor and turned into a slime. "Hey! Turn me back!" it started jumping at her. I couldn't help laughing at it. "Ahh! Shrinking Ray!" I finally spotted a box-like machine with a muzzle jutting out. "Hey, try shrinking this guy first!" Artemis laughed at the slime attempting to take her down. "With pleasure!" I replied and pointed the box at it, flicking a switch. The slime suddenly grew smaller until it was the size of my feet. "Now for you." I said and pointed it at her chest.

We ran out of the building a few minutes later with men in black suits chasing us. There were even ducks and pigs chasing after us, results of Artemis firing the strange gun at them. Quite a bit of a laugh, really. "Too bad that thingy shorted out before my chest shrank to the size i wanted." she grumbled. I stifled laughs as a mouse squeaked and ran around my feet. I rounded a corner and spotted a rope hanging down. I quickly shimmied up it and pulled Artemis up along with the rope. We lay prone on the ground and hoped they wouldnt find us. Footsteps raced along the pavement and disappeared. "Come on." I grabbed her hand and ripped a scroll in half. The world twisted and whirled before coming to a stop after a few seconds. We were at Perion now.

"Lynx! You're okay!" I ran into the hands of a smiling Lynx standing in the doorway. "Yeah, thanks to you." she laughed. Artemis was standing a distance away looking rather depressed. "Sorry... It's all my fault you lost your soul..." she said. "No, I'm the one who should apologize. I shouldn't have accepted that darn charm in the first place." Lynx sighed. "Anyway, whats that hanging on your belt?" she glanced at a box on my belt. "I didn't see that." I opened it to find a few syringes. The box was labelled "Breast Growth Serum". "I wonder how that got here." Lynx fingered a syringe gently.

I walked in to find Daniel with his bow strung and 4 arrows pointing at me. "It's fine, this is the real Artemis." Alexis walked in beside me. He heaved a sigh of relief and put his bow down. "SON!!!" he yelled and hugged me. "Son?" I looked at him curiously. "Huh?" he stared into my eyes. "I'm a girl!" I said. Their faces turned white. "What?" I looked around.
