Chapter 8: Demon Stone (Part 1) "Brrrrr......" Ivan woke up in a room, having had cold water dumped on him. "About time too. You got a letter." Roy said beside him. "A letter?" Ivan asked. Roy replied, "Yeah, you'd better read it." and tossed it at Ivan. He ripped it open and unfolded the letter. It read: Dear Ivan, You may not know me, but i am a big fan of yours. I read the article on your powers just yesterday and I think you're pretty incredible. I think I know a way to boost your powers. There's a rumour flying around the market about an incredibly rare, powerful and magical stone. It's called the Demon Stone. It's supposedly able to make any mapler far stronger than any other mapler in the world. However, it's also rumoured to be guarded by an extremely powerful guild called the Protector Clan. Be careful if you want to search for it. P.S: Someone very powerful is observing you. By: Anonymous Ivan looked at Roy, who in turn looked back at him. "Weird letter." Ivan said. "Yeah, but if what the guy said about someone watching you, then you'd better hurry up and get thet Demon Stone. Most probably that person wants to kill you or something." "Hope not......" Alexis walked into the room, cheerily waving at Ivan. Alexis: "Hi, so you're awake." Ivan: "Yeah." Alexis: "You had me worried there when you collapsed!" She ran over to Ivan and hugged him. Ivan: "Sorry about that......" Roy: "Speaking of that, what happened to you back there?" Ivan: "Two people tried to kidnap me. I got trapped underground and a Wizard poisoned me." Roy & Alexis: "What!?" Ivan: "And then, a voice spoke to me inside my mind. It told me not to give up and then the poison was gone." Roy: "Don't tell me, I know what the voice should have been." Ivan: "Then I awakened again. The voice took over my mouth, saying something I didn't understand and the next thing I knew I turned into a dragon." Alexis: "Wow." Roy: "Amazing......" Ivan: "Then i found myself in the park with you guys. Oh yeah, where'd Kei go?" Alexis: "Oh, he went to do some shopping." Ivan: "Oh." Roy: "Ivan got a letter just now, check it out." He tossed the letter at Alexis Alexis read it and her face suddenly turned white. She handed it back to Ivan, trembling. Ivan: "What's wrong? You look shocked." Alexis: "Tha......that handwriting......I recognize it...... It belongs to someone who's after my life......" Ivan & Roy: "WHAT!?!?!?" Alexis: "His name is...... William......He's a highly skilled assasin who murdered my brother......" Ivan: "Waaaa......" Alexis: "Be careful of this letter. This Demon Stone thing is probably a trap. But i don't know whats with this post script, it's not in his handwriting." Keichii burst into the room, panting. Keichii: "No, the Demon Stone is real. I just overheard some people talking about it in Free Market." Ivan: "Hmmm......" Roy: "You should go for it. Probably someone who really wanted to help you wrote that post script." Ivan: "Why is he after your life anyway, Alexis?" Alexis: "It's my blood he's after. You see, I'm actually descended from the warrior 3rd job master, Tylus." Roy: "Whoah!" Alexis: "My blood contains most of my power. Tylus says I have untapped potential in becoming a Hero. William is after me because of that power. He can gain the skills of any job as long as he has drunk the blood of one of them. My brother was a Bishop. Oh yes, anyone killed by him will not be able to revive." Ivan: "That gives me more of a reason to get that Demon Stone." Keichii: 'It's dangerous. From what I've heard, the guardians are extremely powerful monsters." Ivan: "I need to defend us. What would happen if that powerful person attacked us? If you guys get killed I won't be able to forgive myself." SonicBoom49 burst into the room, panting also. SonicBoom49: "Get the hell outta here! There's an angry mob outside wanting to kill you guys! Quiet14 is holding them off as best as she can, but she won't last for long." Ivan: "What the......" Keichii: 'No time to waste, we'd better go help Quiet14." Roy & Alexis: "Yeah!" Outside the house...... "Lemme throttle them!" one person said, enraged. "Now hold on a sec here, whaddya guys wanna kill them for?" Quiet14 shouted over the angry cries from the mob. "We just wanna kill them!!!" another person said. SonicBoom49, Roy, Alexis, Keichii and Ivan came out of the door, clad in battle armour, Keichii's sword shining especially bright and Roy's claw stuck in his pocket, readying his Ilbi throwing stars. "There they are! Get them!!!" someone yelled and the entire mob charged. Suddenly the Dark Dragon's voice appeared again, saying, "Do not kill these innocent people. They are being controlled by someone." Keichii, Roy, Alexis, SonicBoom49 and Quiet14 had apparently heard it too, for they said simultaneosly, "They're being controlled." and gaped. Ivan said, "Guess we're gonna have to hold them back without hurting them." The Dark Dragon said, "I will boost the two thief's Dark Sight skills to encompass your entire party. However, this will drain 80% of your strength. Are you ready?" Ivan nodded as Roy and Quiet14 clasped their hands together, muttering a string of words in an ancient tongue and ending it with, "Dark Sight!" The entire party faded away, Ivan feeling extremely weak all of a sudden. Keichii sighed and lifted him on his back, following the others away from the area, ignoring the shouts of, "Where'd they go?" from the mob behind them. |
