Chapter 78: Soul Collector

"27 souls? You have done well." the Pianus praised Lynx, who was kneeling down in front of it. "Thank you, master." she replied. "Now, open." it ordered. Lynx's armour snapped off, leaving her standing naked on the ground. She lay down on the floor, facing the ceiling and took a deep breath. The Akasha Charm started to glow and her body also did the same. 20 souls flew out of her mouth and into the skull mark on the Pianus's forehead. "Seven souls are yours to keep, for your loyalty." it said. Lynx's chest grew a few centimetres larger. "Close." the Pianus ordered. Her armour flew back onto her and locked tight. However, there was a hole on her chest plate. "Go and collect more." the Pianus ignored it.

"No, I shouldn't be doing this......" Lynx thought to herself as her body turned around and marched towards a portal. "I need to get myself outta this... Darn that Pianus, tricking me like that!" she fumed. "I may want a better body, but I don't want to go to such lengths to get one!"

"I hope she's just under a spell......" Alexis started to cry. "She definitely is. The Dark Dragon sensed some kind of strange energy, but it couldn't pinpoint the location." I said, patting her on the back. "Hold it!" the Dark Dragon suddenly spoke. "That energy again?" I asked. "Yes. This time, it's quite stronger. It's coming from somewhere in Lith Harbour." it replied. "Daniel, you...... nevermind." I glanced at Daniel. He was staring off into space, seemingly entranced. "He's been like that ever since we saw Lynx." Alexis shrugged. "Might as well leave now." I sighed. "Wait! Take off your clothes." the Leviathan said. "Huh?" "Just do it!"

"Do not stare at her for too long, or your soul will get sucked out. The Akasha Charm was thought of as a legend, I never knew it really existed!" the Siren warned us as we raced along the shore to where a large group of people were standing. "Oh no...... We're too late..." Alexis gasped as spirits floated out of the people's mouths. They flew into the air a metre or so and then descended into the chest of Lynx, who was floating on the water in a very revealing swimsuit.

"Too late, I already got their souls. Tata~" she waved at us as a rune appeared in the air behind her. "A portal spell! Quick, allow me to manifest!" the Demon Dragon shouted. "Spiritual Form, manifest!" I quickly recited. The Demon Dragon appeared beside me in a ethereal body, looking as fearsome as ever. "Naga Breath!" a burst of black flame shot out of its mouth. It hit the rune just as a portal appeared behind it and it disappeared. "What!?" Lynx started to float in the air. Her beauty was so captivating......

"Artemis! Snap out of it!" Alexis slapped me. I came back to my senses and shook my head. "Ugh." I mumbled. "I won't let you go on!" she shouted to Lynx. Lynx started to float towards the shore and landed on the soft sand, a puddle of wind dispersing under her. "You shall not escape the Akasha Charm!" she said and her swimsuit completely disappeared. I found myself staring at her again. Alexis was apparently also stuck looking at her. "Oh shoot!" I thought and tried to close my eyelids. My body wouldn't respond! "Hmmm?" Lynx suddenly muttered.

"Not good." the Leviathan thought.

"A protection spell...... I see. Lodenir!" Lynx commanded. A black sword that was gleaming ominously appeared in her hands. It appeared to be made out of some sort of crystal. "Oh no." the Demon Dragon breathed.

"Lodenir!" I summoned the ancient demonic sword and muttered a few enchantments. It started to glow orange. "Deathblow!" I slashed the sword through the air, aiming straight for a young man strapped to a wooden cross in front of me. The person was completely vaporized in an explosion the size of a house. Not even a bone or a bit of flesh was left. I sank to the floor, panting wildly. "What... have I just done......" I gasped. "You, have just killed your 'friend'." a voice laughed maniacally in my mind. "This weapon should never be used again! ETERNAL SEAL!" I roared. Chains and a lock appeared around the sword and it disappeared along with me.

"I'm sorry, Arthur."

"Where did you get that sword!?" the Demon Dragon demanded. "From my master, the Abyssal Pianus." Lynx smiled. "Great." I muttered sarcastically as she began to walk towards us, turning the sword in an arc. She muttered an incantation and it began to glow orange. "The Deathblow!? You're going to perform that forbidden arte!?" the Leviathan shouted. "Oh, not the Deathblow. The power of the souls that the Akasha Charm just relieved of their bodies allows me to channel an even more powerful spell." she laughed.

"DOOM RITUAL!!!" Lynx roared and slashed a circle in the air above ehr with her sword. The sand around us flew up into the air and started to gather behind us while the sky turned black. A single massive rune formed under our feet and slash marks appeared on our bodies. I screamed in pain as I was lifted into the sky. Black lightning appeared above me and I instantly knew what would happen next.

A bolt of lightning struck me. It felt like I was incinerated a thousand times over and I screamed again. "Ritual one, Eternal Torture!" a voice rang out from the sky. More lightning bolts hit me. Even so, I still wouldn't lose consiousness. Blood spattered onto the ground. "I won't let you die just yet. You must suffer the pain of a thousand tortured souls before you may pass on!" Lynx enunciated clearly.

"Kill... me...now..." I stammered. "Oh no, not just yet. There is an alternative to this fate though. Allow the Akasha Charm to claim your soul, and you shall be freed from this torture!" Lynx said. My heart did a backflip when I heard those words. I realized what she was trying to do. "NEVER!" I yelled. Another lightning bolt struck me and I screamed in pain. Alexis was suffering the same torture beside me, and was also screaming.

"Darn it! Alexis...... Don't let me be too late!" I swam through the air towards a humongous black cloud hovering above Lith Harbour. "Strange energy." the Aegis breathed. "Zephyr, how's it doing back there?" I called back. Zephyr was grabbing onto my fins to avoid slipping off. His feet were dangling in the air though. "I think I can manage from here." he let go and started to fall towards the water below. "Ramuh, embodiment of lightning, awaken!"
