Chapter 73: Abyss "Urgh......" I shook my head and woke up. I was in a cave submerged with red water, slumped up against the wall. Alexis and Lynx were beside me, still unconscious and...... woundless? They had slash wounds all over their bodies when I last saw them! However, there was still evidence proving that they had been slashed somehow. Some kind of weapon had somehow managed to slice clean through their inch-thick armour and leave my clothes in pieces as well. When I tried to swim over to Alexis, I found that I couldn't move! "I told you, this water wasn't normal!" the Dark Dragon said. Suddenly, a giant fish appeared out of nowhere in a corner of the cavern and looked over the three of us. It was blue coloured with horns protruding out of its head along with a skull mark on its forehead. I shrank back as it stared into my eyes. "So, thou art the Dark Dragon?" it spoke with a voice that reverberated arund the cavern. "Y...yes..." I trembled. The red water around me wobbled slightly. "I see. It would be a great honour to do battle with thou. Enguarde!" it spoke. The red water around me dispersed and I fell to the ground. This demon was...... different from the other two! I quickly summoned the Archaeion and took a shooting stance. "Why are you......" I fumbled with the string and dropped the arrow. My body felt too stiff for me to move effectively. "I am probably the only demon who has a code of honour." it explained and its skull mark lit up. "Aqua Buster!" it roared and a watery spear appeared out of its mouth and impaled me through the stomach! "Argh......" I vomited blood on the ground and looked at myself. There was no visible physical wound other than the hole in my shirt! "Darn you...... Stellar Comb...... Urgh!" I vomited blood again when I tried to nock six arrows to the string. The arrows fell to the ground and dissipated into smoke and I collapsed. "Weak." the Abyssal Pianus scoffed and opened its mouth wide, aiming at me. When I looked behind me, I spotted Alexis staring at me wide-eyed. Lynx opened her jaw to gasp and quickly shut it once she realized she was underwater. Crap, if I moved, whatever it was going to fire at me would hit them! "Abyssal Buster!" the Abyssal Pianus roared and another watery spear shot out of its mouth. I hope this works...... "GUARDIAN!" A shield appeared in front of me and deflected the projectile into the wall. It disappeared after a while. "Impressive. However, I was only using a mere ten percent of my power." the Pianus smiled. All of a sudden, the red water closed around us again and I held my breath. "I shalt make thou my bride if thou can deflect this! CHAOS IMPALER!" a dark green, thick, pointed beam of light shot out of its mouth and raced towards me. My eyes widened in horror and I opened my mouth to take a breather to cast a spell before I realized what I had just done. "Uhoh." I thought. Pain shot through my body as I inhaled the red water and the beam hit my chest and dispersed into the water. "AARRRGGGHHHH!!!" I screamed in pain and began to float around limply. "Interesting effect." the Pianus glanced at us. The water turned clear white and our clothes started to melt. "You gotta be kidding me." I groaned and received another shot of pain. |
