Chapter 68: Chaos "Owww, my head hurts......" I sat up and grabbed my head. Alexis had just woken up beside me and she was clutching her leg in pain. We were still on the balcony, naked and freezing. It was the middle of the night. "Argh..." she gritted her teeth as I put her on my back and carried her into the house and we quickly got dressed. The Siren quickly did something to her leg. "Does it still hurt?" the Siren asked. "Nope, it doesn't now. Thanks." she replied, gently massaging her leg. "The Minotaur......" I mumbled, pacing up and down the room. "No wonder you didn't come for dinner." Fielda grumbled after we told her the whole story. "I wonder who didn't look on the balcony." Daniel remarked. Fielda eyed him fiercely. "Let's get some rest. There's still two more of those demon bosses after all." Artemis suggested. I agreed and we went to bed. "Ivan?" I muttered. "Yeah?" she shifted. "When do you think you'll turn back to normal?" I asked. She said nothing and a soft snoring noise followed. Oh. "You can't come in like this!" "We wanna interview her!" our sleep was interrupted by loud shouts from outside. I got up and walked to the edge of the balcony, rubbing my eyes groggily. "There she is!" someone yelled and a stampede of footsteps sounded. "Retreat?" the Dark Dragon suggested. "You bet." I agreed and loaded my quiver with arrows. Alexis grabbed her Kotetsu and gave her wings a test flap. "Get on my back." she motioned for me to get on her back. "Where is she?" shouts erupted from the house. We were already flying towards Ellinia to take the ship to Orbis. "I wish those guys would stop chasing us." I grumbled and twanged the Archaeion's bowstring. It snapped. "Great." I mumbled and took a new bowstring from my quiver. It was a brand new one, made out of Drake's guts. (Drake gut bowstrings taken from Revolt of The Archers, by Kal Ancalas.) "Was that the ship?" My jaw dropped, looking at what had once been the ship. It was completely snapped in half, the mast and sails were gone and the engines were mangled. "Yeah, darn Balrog completely smashed it up." a fairy replied. "Never seen anything like it before, green and black all over." the fairy added, tilting her head slightly. "I see...... Thanks for your help." I replied and walked away. "Don't mention it. By the way, have I seen your face somewhere before?" she called over. I walked away faster towards Alexis, hiding behind a warehouse. "No ship. Apparently, the Chaos Balrog smashed it to pieces." I sighed. Alexis thought for a while. "Why don't we just go and fight it ourselves?" she finally suggested. "Might as well. Awaken!" I agreed. "With pleasure." the Dark Dragon smiled and my wings and tail burst out of my back. "Dark powers within me, heed your mistress's awakening call! Dark Dragon Form!" I commanded. A black ray shot up from the ground and covered me. My hands and feet became claws while my tail and neck grew longer, my wings grew broader and my body became dragonish. "Let's go." I said and took off. Alexis followed. "Mind's Eye." I said and closed my eyes, hovering in the air. Even with the skill, I couldn't sense anything. "Nothing." I opened my eyes. Alexis sighed and started to look around. Suddenly, I spotted a blurry patch of air behind her. Probably water vapour. I turned back to scan the area. When I turned back to look at her, she was gone! "What the...... Alexis!?" I shouted. The next moment, I felt breath on my neck. I turned around to see the patch of "water vapour" behind me. "Oh. Shyt." I mumbled. "Eternal Dream!" a voice echoed through the air and I lost consciousness. |
