Chapter 65: Demonic Arts "Carrion Swarm!" a voice cried out. A big group of beetles suddenly appeared out of nowehere and stuffed up the hole that Alexis was just about to fall into. I heaved a sigh of relief and looked towards her saviour. The Cascada was crawling towards her. I unintentionally let my guard down and the Death Angel took the opportunity to swipe at my leg, leaving quite a deep gash. I flinched and clutched the wound painfully. Keichii suddenly flew up to help me. "Go for it!" he winked at me. I nodded and swooped downwards towards the Mushmom, turning the Archaeion into a double-bladed dagger. "Dark Assaulter!" I roared and gave my wings a termendous flap, sweeping through the air past the Mushmom and cutting it in the stomach. It roared and fired an energy beam at me. I dodged it without a problem and landed safely beside Alexis, a puddle of wind forming under my feet. Once on the ground, my injured leg began to hurt and I gritted my teeth. "Look out!" Alexis shouted and I looked behind me. A ball of black energy had formed in the Mushmom's mouth and it was preparing to fire at us! "No! Guar...... ARGH!" she cried out in pain and I limped over in front of her, determined to stop the beam before it hit her. I held my hands out wide and ignored the pain in my leg. "Puny. HELLISH JUDGEMENT!" the Mushmom said and discharged the ball of darkness. "I... won't let you hurt Alexis!!!" Artemis cried out and desperately tried to block the energy ball. She failed. The ball hit her with so much force she was knocked back into a building, creating a large crater on the wall. I heard something crack. Most probably some of her bones. She sank to the ground, clothes stained with blood. "Artemis!" I screamed, horrified. She musn't die now! "Now, for you, girl. HELLISH JUDGEMENT!" the Mushmom roared, unleashing another energy ball. I was finished if someone didn't come and save me! "Centurion Mode." my lips moved unintentionally. Suddeny, a large pillar of blue light rose up around me and deflected the ball! "What the......" I gasped. My armour was completely torn to pieces by the sheer force of the power now flowing around me and my body began to transform. My legs melded together, forming a tail longer than my normal Siren form. My entire body grew longer while my arms grew green scales. My wings also grew broader and a horn sprouted out of my forehead. I was speechless at what I had become. "Centurion Mode allows for complete synchronization between Inner Beast and host, increasing both being's physical and mental capabilities." a psychic voice went through my mind. I grasped the Kotetsu tighter and found that the blade had grown longer and I could easily hold it with one hand. "Twin Blade!" I whispered. Another Kotetsu appeared in my left hand and I twirled both. They felt quite light. "What....... So, you figured out the Centurion Mode. No matter, I still possess enough power to blow you away! Hellish Judgement!" the Mushmom suddenly threw up. "What!?" it was surprised. "No surprise. Mana Gate!" I commanded. A gate opened in the air behind the Mushmom and all of its mana began flowing into it in streams. "Mana Revival!" I commanded, pointing at Artemis. A mana gate opened up beside her and the Mushmom's mana flowed into her. Her eyes jolted open and she jumped to her feet, wounds healed. "Wow." the first thing I saw when my eyes opened was Alexis in her Leviathan form, but she had a horn on her head and her body was much longer than usual. My lips suddenly moved without me wanting to do so. "Centurion Mode." A tunneling vortex of black energy shot out of the ground under me and swallowed me in. My clothes were ripped to pieces by the power and my tail extended. My entire body became dragonish and my wings grew broader while my neck grew longer. When the vortex cleared, I landed on all fours on the ground. "Whoa." was the only word I could say when I craned my neck around to look at myself. Even then, my voice was layered with a deep voice, the voice of the Dark Dragon. Alexis and the rest of the party were also staring at me, wide-eyed. Apparently Daniel had never seen the Centurion Mode before either, for his jaw was wide open. "Ummm...... Hi?" I said sheepishly. "Might as well cut to the chase." Alexis sighed and wrapped her tail around the Mushmom. I zoomed into the sky feeling more powerful and flexible than ever. "Hyper Claw!" I shouted. My claws started to glow and I swept downwards, scratching the Mushmom as I passed it. It roared in pain and summoned more statues. "Light begone!" it roared. However, I slashed the statues in half before they could turn into Death Angels. "Archaeion!" I summoned the Archaeion to my hand. It seemed to be larger and more powerful, for the red eyes on the engraving of the dragon's head were glowing ominously. "Piledriver!" I roared and launched one massive arrow at the Mushmom. The arrow practically pierced through its main body and left a hole in it, leaking black liquid. "Pyroblast!" I shouted and launched another arrow. It slid into the hole and began emitting a ticking sound. "Not good." the Mushmom's face twisted into fear and it began trying to force the arrow out. "Say your prayers." I smiled. The arrow exploded with a tremendous "BOOM" and blew the Mushmom to pieces. Glistening spores flew everywhere. "Wow." the 3 GMs stepped out from behind a building. |
