Chapter 62: The Demons

"What in the world!? AAAGGGGHHHH!!!" a nearby magician screamed as one of the beast's claws slashed through him. His image fizzled and disappeared. No tombstone. "Oh crap. Ivan! Get the hell outta here! These Hellhounds will tear you to pieces!" the Dark Dragon yelled. I picked myself up and began to run, but one of the Hellhounds suddenly leapt into my way and started to sniff me. "This one has a different smell compared to the others." it seemed to speak, but it didn't open its mouth! "What smell?" I asked. It smiled and replied, "So you can hear our telepathy. No normal human can hear us, so you must be...... ONE OF THE ORIGINAL TWELVE!" It opened its jaws. Fresh blood dripped from its teeth and I shrank back in terror. Slowly, it began to move towards me. "I haven't tasted blood from an Original before. I wonder which part is the most delicious...... Perhaps the breasts?" it laughed horribly, edging towards my chest. "Dammit! I'm coming out!" the Dark Dragon roared and great black wings and a tail burst out of my back. My tail slapped the Hellhound in the face and I began to hover in the air. "Dark powers within me, hear your mistress's awakening call and manifest on me! Level 2 Dark Dragon Form!" my mouth spoke. My body grew longer and black scales appeared on my entire body. My hands and feet changed into claws while my head morphed into a dragon's and my tail grew longer. "I'm taking full control over your body. You cannot hope to win in a condition like this." the Dark Dragon said, adding a echoing sound of "Archaeion! Come to me!" The Archaeion materialized in my claws and the Hellhounds immediatly turned on me. "Ahhh...... The Dark Dragon. It has been quite a while, has it not?" one of them thought. "Mulichior! I thought I killed you!" I roared. "If it had not been for the powers of Lord Kith'an, I would surely have been." it replied.

"SILENCE! Hellfire!" I roared, unleashing a flurry of fiery arrows on the Hellhounds. They merely deflected the arrows with their horns and leapt towards me. "Dragon Roar! HAA!" I let out a tremendous roar, flinging some of the Hellhounds back. Mulichior merely used the effect to put some spring into his foot and jump back towards me, fangs bared. "Chaos Impaler!" it shouted, opening its mouth. A green spear of light shot out and I quickly descended to avoid it. "Too slow!" Mulichior's voice yelled from behind me and I cursed. Claws scratched my back and I fell to the ground, panting and bleeding. "I have just clipped your wings, as maplers say it." it said behind me. "Wha..? ARGH!" my wings fell onto the ground. "Why you...... Chaos Rain!" I shouted. Arrows with green flames licking around them landed everywhere in a radius of about 10 metres around me. One Hellhound was hit through the heart and dissolved into thin air. "Pointless." Mulichior scoffed, jumping towards me only to fall to the ground. "Look behind you." I smiled. Three arrows were stuck in the ground behind Mulichior on his three tails!

"Smart." it laughed and began trying to swing the arrows off. Suddenly, their flames swept onto its tails and onto its body. It howled in pain and fell to the ground. The other Hellhounds immediatly tried to jump onto me and I changed the Archaeion into a dual-bladed dagger, preparing to go in close. "Dark Assaulter." I whispered, taking off at an incredible speed. I walloped the head off of one as I passed it and cut another's leg off. Dark green blood began flowing out of their wounds as I landed safely behind the other Hellhounds. They opened their mouths and turned at me. Suddenly, green fire blasted from their mouths and I rolled aside, only to bump into another Hellhound waiting beside me. "Crap." Artemis thought. Fangs gnashed and bit into my nocking arm. I roared in pain and rolled over. As the Hellhounds advanced, I thought I was done for. Now we wouldn't be able to fulfill the prophecy since I was dead.

"Alexis! Over there! What in the world......" Fielda stood, aghast at the group of huge horned dogs with three tails grouped in the middle of Henesys Park. I could barely make out Artemis's body shape in the middle of the pack! "Artemis!" I shouted and unsheathed the Kotetsu. "No...... Not the Hellhounds! The demons are back!" the Siren shivered in fear. "Demons!? Oh crap!" I spotted two flat items beside the pack. The Dark Dragon's wings! "Siren, embodiment of Ice and Water, awaken!" I wasted no time and slithered into battle. "I see...... so the Siren is here." one of them said. Two of the Hellhounds immediatly rounded on me and I strengthened my grip on the Kotetsu. "Puny blade. Chaos Impaler!" one of them howled. A spear of green light burst out from its mouth and flew towards me. I ducked it but it grazed my back, opening up a cut. Fielda also barely managed to dodge it. "Boomerang Cutter!" I shouted and threw the Kotetsu. It sliced off the horns of a Hellhound and returned to me. I resumed the attack with a yell of "Oceanic Terror!" A wave full of sharks rode towards the Hellhounds. One of them was killed on the spot while the other was lightly injured. "Worthless." it spat and jumped towards me. I began to spar with it, attempting to slash its head off every now and then. It blocked my slashes with its horns and kicked me in the chest, forcing the air out of my lungs. "Oof." I flew backwards. "Earthquake!" it roared and stomped the ground. The ground started to crack and shake. I utilized my wings to fly up into the air, dodging the attack. "Oh? Lava Spout!" it smiled. A hole opened up under me and lava shot out in a geyser. "Alexis!" Fielda shouted. I was severely burnt and fell to the ground limply. "I hear that mapler breasts taste better than other body parts." it laughed, walking over to me. Half the pack split off from Artemis and advanced towards me.

"Demons." the Cascada said as I jumped from tree to tree towards Henesys. "Yeah, we'd better get there, and fast." I replied seriously. Eventually, I reached a tree overlooking Henesys Park to find huge horned dogs with three tails crowded around two girls! "Hellhounds. Let us go!" the Cascada shouted. "Cascada, embodiment of Earth and Grass, awaken!" I chanted. My legs and arms became skinny, like spider legs, causing me to drop to the ground on all eights. My body grew slightly smaller to become the abdomen while my head became spider-like, adding six eyes. "Leave those girls alone!" I shouted. The Hellhounds turned to look at me. "It's been a while, Cascada."

A big spider was glaring at the Hellhounds. One of the Hellhounds said, "It's been a while, Cascada." It leapt at the spider. Throwing stars materialized on the spider's skinny legs and it started throwing them at the Hellhound. The Cascada then leapt into the air and spun a web between two trees, smack between me and Artemis. It crawled down and quickly carried us to safety. The Hellhounds surrounding us were too surprised to do anything about it and I quickly gripped the blood-stained Kotetsu tightly. Artemis was trying to get to her feet, but she wouldn't be able to shoot. There was a large bite mark on her nocking arm. "Argh!" she managed to get up. Fielda quickly pulled her away from the fight. "How dare you steal my meal!" one of the Hellhounds howled and leapt at me. "Siren, are you ready?" the Cascada breathed. I nodded and slithered back into battle.

Blocking the Hellhound's slashes weren't easy. Whenever I blocked a claw, the other one would attempt to slice my arm off. After a while, I managed to slice its head off. The Cascada had managed to pierce an arm into a Hellhound's head and it too, fell to the ground, dead. Just one more Hellhound remained and I nodded to the Cascada. It nodded back and began to attack the last Hellhound while I slithered off to attend to Artemis's wounds. She had a pretty big gash on her back and it was bleeding severely. "Darn....it..." she muttered. There was a howl from the last Hellhound as the Cascada finished it off. "There are...more of us...... than you could ever.... imagine...... We will be..... back." it said painfully before dissolving into thin air.
