Chapter 60: Eternal or Not? "Purge!" I shouted, placing my hand on my chest. Nothing happened. I tried again and again, but no matter how many times I did it, I was still a girl. "Purge won't work on stuff that didn't happen because of some sort of liquid. You'll need a waaaaay more advanced spell to cancel this out." Daniel said. I slammed my fist into the wall. "But...... I don't think such a spell exists just yet. I'm afraid you'll have to stay like this for quite a while." he sighed. Alexis walked in beside me and dragged me into the bathroom along with a box. She locked the door and opened the box. "I'm not going to wear that......" I muttered. Half an hour later, I walked out of the bathroom feeling awkward. Alexis had forced a blouse and a skirt onto me saying, "We can't have you walking around as a girl in boy's clothes." I sat down on the bed and folded my arms as she walked out. "You actually look pretty cute." she smiled. "Shut up." I replied. She had also put a hairclip on my long hair. Later that day, I went out to the archery range and tried to summon the Archaeion. I failed. Sighing, I went to the nearby shed to get my old Red Viper. "Homi...... Argh!" I clutched my arm. A sudden burst of pain had shot through my arm when I tried to focus my mana on the arrow. I fell to the ground and vomited blood on the grass. "Whoa." Alexis gasped as I walked in. My hair had grown longer until it fell to my feet and my chest had expanded slightly. "This is so embarassing..." I mumbled as heads turned to stare at me. The Dark Dragon complained, "Long hair doesn't suit me!" "Neither does it suit me." I grumbled. I stomped upstairs to our bed and flopped onto the bed. I refused to eat for the rest of the day and my stomach started to rumble. "How am I supposed to turn back to normal?" I thought. Suddenly, the pain came again, this time on my chest. Again, I vomited blood. My hair doubled its length and my chest grew larger. Not again...... "You mean to tell me that's Ivan!?" Jullian's jaw dropped when he saw Ivan. "Somebody shot him with a weird gun while we were breaking Afrodita out of the Fidelo Corporation's building." I explained. He sighed and shook his head. "I'll see what I can do for him... errrr.... her." he said. "Death Coil!" he shouted and shook his wand at Ivan. A trail of black electricity shot out and wrapped itself around her. She screamed in pain. "This is the best healing skill I have, and about the only magic that can heal a Dark elemental person. It does hurt a bit though." Jullian explained. "A bit?" I eyed Ivan. The trail of electricity dissipated and she started to pant. Nothing had happened to her. "You... mind te...lling me before you try that?" she panted, getting up. "Nice hair." Afrodita was leaning on the doorway. "Shut up." Ivan replied, walking into the bathroom and locking the door behind him. "He... She's been like this ever since that happened." I sighed. "Anyway, I think she needs a new name. People will find it strange if we call her by a boy's name in public. How does Julliet sound?" Jullian suggested. "He wouldn't like it for sure." I shook my head. "Melody?" "A sure no." "Aura?" "Same." "Luna?" I slammed my fists into the bathroom floor. How long would I have to stay like this!? "You might never be a boy ever again." a voice echoed in my head. Tears dripped onto the floor as I began to cry. I didn't even feel like living on anymore! "Do not give up hope." the Demon Dragon's voice reverberated around the room. I cried even harder. "Just keep on living as a girl. If you kill yourself now, who'll fulfill the prophecy?" the Dark Dragon said. "When the world plunges into the deep ravine of peril, a pair of Inner Beasts will save the world. These two Inner Beasts are husband and wife and their hosts will be twins." the Dark Dragon recited the prophecy. "Alexis and you, the Siren and me. We fulfill these conditions." it added. I wiped away my tears and stood up, slightly wobbly. Yet another burst of pain shot through my legs and I crumpled to the floor. "Not....... again......." I screamed and blacked out. "Ivan! Ivan!" I shouted, running up the stairs after hearing Ivan's scream. I kicked open the bathroom door to find her curled up on the floor. Her hair was already long enough to stretch the whole width of the house and her chest was bulging. I put my ear to her chest and heaved a sigh of relief. She was still breathing. I quickly grabbed a pair of scissors and cut her hair to waist length. Quietly, I pulled a measuring tape around her. "A day of being a girl and her chest is already a metre? Wow." I breathed. I grabbed a box and stuffed the portion of her hair I had cut off into it. The box was barely large enough for all of it. To be continued...... |
