Chapter 6: A Shadow Falls Yotam was having fun training at Pig Beach until he reached to his back for another arrow only to find his quiver empty. He cursed as an armoured pig appeared behind him and ran for the rope. He pulled out a scroll from his bag, muttered a few magical words, and the very next second he was in Henesys, heading for the local potion shop. A thief, walking out of the shop, bumped into Yotam as he walked in. The thief muttered, "Sorry" and continued on his way. Yotam walked into the shop and bought a few arrows. After that he headed back to Pig Beach, walking past a tent on the way. He reached his destination only to find a I/L Wizard there. Yotam asked him, "What's a high-level person like you doing here?" "I'm here to ask you to help me with something." "What?" "Bring a certain Bowan to me." "Who?" "Ivan." "That noob?" Meanwhile, at Henesys in a tent...... "Ahhhchoooo!" Ivan sneezed. "Someone must be talking about you." Alexis said with a grin. Ivan replied, "Maybe." Back at Pig Beach...... "Yeah." "No way. I wouldn't go near him even if my life depended on it." "Why not?" "I've seen his true powers before. They're scary." "I don't care. Just do it." "No." "Are you sure? I'll pay you 500000 mesos." "My answer is still no. Leave me alone, you idiot." "I'll teach you to call me an idiot!" The wizard fired a lightning bolt at Yotam. Luckily he saw it coming and jumped out of the way. The wizard had gotten really angry and was firing spells at him one after another. Yotam was dodging them very easily, thanks to his quick reflexes and brought his crossbow to bear on the wizard. Suddenly, the wizard fired a lightning bolt at Yotam's crossbow, burning it to a crisp. "Hey! That was my favourite crossbow!" Yotam yelled and brought out an axe, trying to hack at the wizard. Trying to get in close, he was caught off guard by a lightning bolt the wizard had charged up and flew into a wall, falling to the grass with a slump. Just as the wizard was about to finish Yotam off, a steely throwing star flew out of the sky and hit the wizard on the foot. Hopping on his other uninjured foot and yelling, he lost concentration on his lightning bolt, causing it to self-destruct. He brought his esther shield up and blocked the explosion, flying back in the process. Yotam glanced around weakly, looking for his rescuer and noticed a dark figure in the sun. A level 59 Assasin named AssinxD flew out of the sky and landed before him, sunlight shining off his Sapphire Slain and his White Napoleon billowing in the wind. He said, "Tsk, tsk, you shouldnt pick on newbies like that." Without a word, the wizard fired a lightning bolt at him. AssinxD muttered a few words under his breath, ending it with "Haste." and disappeared into thin air, the lightning bolt flashing harmlessly through the space which he had just unoccupied. Without the wizard noticing, AssinxD jumped to his back and threw more steelies at the wizard. Blocking them easily, the wizard fired a lightning bolt at AssinxD again but was easily dodged. Now, AssinxD was running circles around the wizard while throwing steelies at him. All the wizard could do was block and teleport away. But whenever he tried to, a steely would fly at him before he finished the incantation, forcing him to block and disrupting his concentration. He tried to freeze the grass on which AssinxD was running on, causing him to lose his grip and slip. He recovered just in time to dodge another lightning bolt fired at him and started jumping around with incredible speed this time. Again and again, the wizard froze the grass around him, but AssinxD would just jump over it easily. Suddenly an idea occurred to the wizard and he muttered a quick incantation, freezing an area of grass around him in a circle of about 15 metres radius. Another quick incantation caused a wall of impenetrable ice to rise up around him, blocking any attacks. When the ice wall was gone, the wizard had also disappeared without a trace. AssinxD sighed and went to check on Yotam. "Are you okay?" "Yeah, thanks a lot. I'd be dead by now if you hadn't stepped in." 'No problem. I just hate high-leveled people that bully newbies." "Oh." "Anyway, i gotta run, doing an errand for a friend." "Oh okay. Bye." "Bye." With that AssinxD disappeared in a flash. Yotam suddenly noticed a Battle Crossbow beside him with a hurriedly scribbled note on it. It read: Here's a new crossbow for you. I happened on it when i was hunting and since i don't really need it, you can have it. Sorry about your other crossbow that got blown up by that wizard. This message will self-destruct in 10 seconds. AssinxD Yotam thought the last sentence was a joke and reread it, getting a black face in the process (The message had self-destructed). He coughed, thought "What a weird guy." and continued training. |
