Chapter 57: Afrodita "Hang in there...... Alexis..." Ivan said as I struggled to hold onto the last strands of consiousness. My entire body was feeling very hot and sweat glands were popping. He quickly grabbed a tissue and started wiping away my sweat. I felt like I was about to die...... "Iv...an... Hel..p..." I muttered weakly. He held my hand tight and stayed silent. He suddenly let go and I heard footsteps. "There has to be something here that can help her!" I mumbled as I flipped through the book of Inner Beasts, the Dark Dragon reading all the runes aloud. Pictures blinked to life everywhere on the pages until I reached a page titled, "Basic Healing". "I hope there's something here......" I thought as I scanned the page. Purge This basic healing spell will purge the afflicted's body of most status effects or toxins and is a must for all Inner Beast hosts. Finally! I ran upstairs and into Alexis's room, clutching the book. "Light of the heavens, bathe my hands with your power and enable me to heal! Purge!" I whispered, placing my hand on Alexis's chest, ignoring how soft she felt. Light gathered at my palm and dispersed into her body. Her chest immediatly shrank back to its normal size and her brown scales disappeared. "Purge! Purge! Purge!" I yelled, moving my hands over her entire body. Her hips shrank back to normal and her tail disappeared back into herself. Her long fingernails also became normal again. I heaved a sigh of relief and sank to the ground, panting. She was still breathing heavily and her fever hadn't gone down though. I gritted my teeth and laid my hand on her forehead. "Purge......" I managed to whisper before I collapsed onto the ground, feeling extremely weak. "Alexis......" Ivan called out to me as I chased him across beautiful green plains dotted with flowers and trees. I couldn't seem to catch up with him no matter how fast I ran though. Suddenly, he started to fade away...... An image of a book named, "Fifth Job Advancement" appeared in front of me and I opened it up. The legendary classes of: Blood Knight Temple Paladin Legionnaire Dark Master Master Assasin Grand Mage (I/l) Grand Mage (F/P) Master Priest Marksman (Bow) Marksman (Crossbow) ............................. I woke up and looked around hurriedly. Ivan was sleeping on the floor and my fever was gone. Since my body had shrunk back to normal, I quickly put on some clothes and laid Ivan down softly on our bed. Suddenly, the phone rang and I ran for it. "Hello, sis?" Afrodita's voice came out. "Hi, sis." I said. "Remember the Fidelo Gang?" she asked. "Yeah, I just escaped from their headquarters." I replied. "Oh, never mi...... HELP!!!" she screamed. "Sis? Sis!? What's going on there!? Sis!?" I shouted into the phone. "Fidelo Gang...burst....in...zzzzzzzzz" her voice buzzed away into nothingness. "You're saying Afrodita was captured?" Ivan asked, shocked. I nodded. "Let's go save her." he said, taking the ritual stance of awakening. |
