Chapter 52: The Egg "Well, well, look who decided to drop in on us." a voice remarked. I looked up to see Lynx and Lorelei looking at me. Ivan reverted to his original form and started to shiver. "We'd better get you two inside." Lynx said and put Ivan on her back. When Lorelei started to put her hands around me, my stomach started to hurt again. "AAARRRGGGHHH!!!" I screamed in pain and clutched my stomach. "Whats wrong?" she asked. "I guess we'd better get her to the doctor first." Lynx remarked and carried me towards a nearby building. "What do I do with this guy?" Lorelei called after us as Lynx ran in the door. "Nice wings." she commented as the many people inside the building turned to stare at us. Lynx put me on a bench and went to the counter. Eventually, she carried me into a separate room. "Oh my." the doctor said as she felt my stomach. "Something hard is inside." she remarked and grabbed a strange device, putting it over my stomach. She waited a few minutes, then turned to look at a screen. I already knew what she was going to say. "No way...... How did an egg get in your stomach?" she asked in surprise. My stomach was hurting too much for me to reply and I screamed again. "No time to waste. Prep the operating room!" the doctor yelled. I was rushed into another room in which the doctor injected something into my arm. I fell asleep. "Alexis......" someone muttered. I opened my eyes to find Ivan beside me. A winged egg was resting beside me on a cushion, wings vibrating softly. I hugged it tightly. Ivan mumbled, "Our real baby......" and fell to the floor limply. When I tried to get up, my body wouldn't move. Lynx walked in and put Ivan on a nearby bed. Lorelei then walked in and looked at the egg. "Don't worry about it, this is normal when Inner Beasts mate." she said. "The Inner Beasts that mate will immediatly lose some of their energy temporarily." she added, walking over to the egg. "Happened to me and Zephyr when we mated, but the egg......" she started to cry softly. Lynx patted her on the back and went to sit beside me. "So that's your husband?" she glanced at Ivan, who was sleeping. I nodded weakly. "He's hot!" she declared. I felt my cheeks turn red. "Yes, Mother, I'm completely fine. Sorry for running off without telling you." I said into the phone. "At least you're fine. Just don't run off like that ever again!" Fielda replied and hung up. I looked at the egg in my hands. It was vibrating softly. Ivan walked over to me and hugged me tightly. |
