Chapter 45: Father

A nice smell wafting from the kitchen woke me up from my delicious dream in which I was eating a huge cake. Ivan's arm suddenly hit me and I fell off the bed. He was tossing and turning in his sleep. I quickly shook him awake and he sat up, tense. He looked around and grunted, "Morning." I asked him, "What nightmare were you having just now?" He replied bluntly, "Oh, nothing." I looked at him suspiciously and he eventually gave up, "Oh all right, I dreamt someone was raping you." I gasped. "Breakfast is ready!" Fielda's voice rang from downstairs and we hurriedly scrambled to our feet and ran downstairs. "Mind if I join in?" a strange voice called from outside. Ivan went to answer the door while I went to the dining room. Roy was already seated while Fielda and Keichii were nowhere to be seen. "They went to the dojo." Roy said. There was a gasp from the door and I went to see what was happening. A black-haired Ranger stood in the doorway, a beautiful golden-coloured bow in his quiver along with some red coloured arrows. "Hey, Alexis."

"Who're you?" I asked. The Ranger walked over to me and put a hand on my shoulder. "Don't you recognize your own father?" he asked. A lightning bolt seemed to flash through my mind. Fielda came running out of the dojo to see what was going on and she dropped her sword, jaw wide open. "Hey darling, close that mouth or a mosquito will fly in." the Ranger smirked and hugged Fielda. "It....its you!" she said and slapped him in the face. "Why'd you have to leave so suddenly without telling me!?" she shouted. The Ranger replied, "Not like I had a choice." and sat down on a sofa. He took off his hat and a black ponytail fell out. "Anyway, we're all here in this world, aren't we?" he added. Ivan hurriedly sat behind father and started chatting up a storm with him. I took a seat opposite both of them and sat down politely. "Fill me in, it's been a while since I last checked into the world." he said. "Oh and Dark Dragon, no need to hide. I know where you are." he added, smiling at Ivan. "Same as always, aren't you, Daniel?" the Dark Dragon replied, a tinge of happiness in its voice.

"Where's our son!?" a woman asked. A man replied hurriedly, "I told you so many times, he was sucked into the computer!" "Like I'd believe that! Give me back my son!" the woman yelled. The man shouted back, "I already told you, I can't bring him back! Also, he's not your real son!". She breathed, "If you dare say that again, our marriage is over!" He sighed and replied, "Looks like I have no choice but to prove to you that he really was sucked into the computer." and sat at the computer chair. He brought up MapleStory and typed in a few words while muttering, "Ancient spirits of the other world, bring me back there!". "What.....what are you doing!? Youre not really going to go back there, are you!?" the woman spluttered and tried to pull the man away from the computer screen. He looked at her fiercely and said, "Bye.". The next second he had vanished and the computer short-circuited.

"Took me a while to find you too, darling left our Henesys house and came here." Daniel explained, wiping his brow. "I sent that book to you after giving it a once-over. I also planted a tracking device in it so I would know where to find you once the book arrived via mole delivery." he added, smiling. I hugged him tightly. "But I'm already re-married!" Fielda protested and Daniel smirked. "Fake marriage, that was your cousin." Her jaw dropped and she asked bluntly, "How'd you know?" My so-thought stepfather was actually my uncle? He replied, "Remember that crystal ball I always bring around with me?" Fielda gasped. "You still have it?" she asked tentatively. Daniel reached into his quiver and pulled out a small ball the size of his palm. That afternoon, Daniel joined us for lunch. Roy and Keichii were particularly excited and asked him a lot of questions. After lunch I went to the balcony along with Ivan for a little chat.
