Chapter 38: Intermission Alexis woke up and looked at herself anxiously. Her body had reverted back to normal and Lynx was standing beside her. "I won't ask you questions for now since you're tired." she said, smiling. The Siren said, "You'll have to skip the fight for today and rest up here. You've already used up today's Exzas transformation.". Alexis sighed and laid down to rest for a bit. She thought of Ivan back at home. "How's he doing?" she thought. The entrance to the Zakum Altar lay before them, looking very ominous. A roar could be heard from deep inside as the two girls sat down for a little chat. Zephyr and Lorelei stood at the entrance to the caves surrounding the Zakum Altar. "Are you sure we should go fight that monster now?" Zephyr asked anxiously. Lorelei replied, "You wanna test your strength, don't you? Anyway, Zakum is rumoured to hold a lot of treasures, and you sure as hell want a bite at it.". He sighed and walked into the caves after shooting a zombie through the head. He expected to see zombies all over the place, but the Dead Mine was completely empty. "Strange......" Lorelei muttered and continued on. They eventually reached the deeper parts of the mine where lava pooled. "I hate these guys." Zephyr mumbled as a fireball from a nearby bulldog singed his hair. He put the small fire out with a wave from his hand and deflected a fireball with a swing of his bow. "No kidding." Lorelei said as she ran for her life through the mob. Zephyr followed her, deflecting the fireball that came after them. |
