Chapter 30: Let's Paaaaarrrrtyyy!! "Yes!" Alexis shouted as she exited the home of Dances with Balrog. She had just made the second job advancement to a Fighter. "Nice!" I called over and added, "What did they test you on?" She replied, "Strength only." I said, "Nice. Mine was accuracy and dexterity. Had to run through a room full of spikes coming out of the walls and split a toothpick in half from 1000 metres away. I barely managed to pass. Sorry I only just told you.". "Wow. I only had to break a few bricks in half with my hands. It's okay." She replied. I looked at her hands and sure enough, they were slightly bruised. "Here." I said and tossed a bottle with red liquid in it at her. "Thanks." she replied and dripped it on her hand. The bruises disappeared. "Let's go find Roy. He should also be making his job advancement now." I added, retrieving a scroll from my bag, holding Alexis tightly and muttering an incantation. The scroll disappeared and we were in Kerning City. We found Roy just as he was about to enter the Dark Lord's home. He said, "Wish me luck!" and went in. He came out a minute later smiling. "So fast?" I asked. He replied, "All I had to do was dodge a spike coming out of the floor when I entered. Piece of cake!" He twirled one of his throwing stars on his finger and neatly passed it over to another finger. I decided to test him and silently drew my bow. Loading it with an arrow, I fired it at Roy's foot. He caught the arrow with two of his fingers and smiled. "Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Here." he said, throwing a box at me and another one at Alexis. I caught mine nicely but Alexis fumbled with the box and dropped it. Luckily, she caught it before it hit the ground, going red. We opened them to find cellphones. "Just so we can keep in contact with each other." Roy added, smiling. We walked back to our house. "Surprise!!!" Fielda shouted as we walked in the door. The house was decorated with ribbons and even balloons. There was also two cakes on the dining table. "Huh? What's with the cakes?" I asked, a quizzical expression on my face. "In case you forgot, today is your birthdays!" Fielda said, laughing. I had totally forgotten my birthday because of all the things that had been happening. Then again, today was also Alexis's birthday since we were twins. I asked, "Whats the date?" Fielda replied, "May 26. Its your 18th birthdays!" Alexis looked at me, blushing. I gazed at the cakes. "Enough! Let's paaarrrty!" Keichii grinned at us from the top of the stairs. Suddenly, Jullian and Afrodita burst in the door. "Don't forget us!" they said, smiling. SonicBoom49 and Quiet14 arrived a while later, having returned to their Henesys home for a few days. "I see you two have made second job!" Quiet14 said. Alexis and Roy replied, "Yeah!" We spent the whole evening partying. There were games and food and everything you would expect to see during a party. Jullian and Afrodita stayed overnight. while SonicBoom49 and Quiet14 returned to their house after bidding us, "Happy Birthday!!!". While Alexis was in the bathroom, I went out to the balcony to look at the night sky. Suddenly, I heard a scream from the bathroom and I asked Alexis, "What happened?". She hastily replied, "No, its nothing.". I thought something was wrong and waited for her to come out. When she did, nothing was wrong with her, other than her hair, which appeared to be longer than usual. "What happened to your hair?" I asked her and she blushed, replying, "I asked the Siren to grow it out longer. Since I'm a Fighter now, might as well change some things.". "What was with the scream?" I asked again and she replied, "A strange mark appeared on my waist. It hurt when it appeared." I looked at the mark. It was something green coloured that appeared to be...... pulsing. When I put my hand on it, it suddenly came out of her skin, leaving a small bleeding hole. "This is...... some of the liquid from last time!" I remarked as Alexis hastily dripped some orange potion on the hole, healing it. I quickly removed the liquid. As Alexis looked at her chest, she smiled and said, "It's changing back to normal now.". I knew what she meant and I didn't want to look at it. The next morning, when I woke up, Alexis's long hair was covering my face. I sneezed and got up. Alexis woke up soon after and I decided not to tell her. We went down for breakfast, which was a chunk of unfinished birthday cake from yesterday and some milk. Jullian joined us and asked, "You ready?" I replied, "For what?". He merely grinned and ate his breakfast. As we were about to go to train, Afrodita held us back, smirking. I wondered what was going on and I soon got my answer. A deliveryman called on us and Fielda got the package. Actually it was two packages and Fielda called the rest up to open it. Keichii went up, winking at us. Alexis and me stood downstairs, looking at each other. Alexis was called up and she went upstairs. I was called up a few minutes later and Afrodita pushed me into another room. |
