Chapter 13: Confrontation Part 1: The Job Masters Athena Pierce, Dances With Balrog, Grendel the Really Old and Dark Lord arrived in Sleepywood, having sensed a very strong power emitted from the inner depths of the dungeon. Many maplers were crowded around the entrance to the Ant Tunnel, wondering what was going on. Athena nodded to the rest, who quickly prepared for battle. Grendel casted a Mass Teleport spell which took them to the entrance to the Demon Dragon's cave. Entering the cave, it immediatly awoke and unleashed a tremendous roar, knocking all but Dances with Balrog back. "It's far harder than we thought." Athena mumbled, drawing her bowstring back and shooting four arrows at the dragon. It easily blocked it with a swing of it's tail and opened its mouth, charging up an energy beam. "Scatter!" the Dark Lord shouted and immediatly activated Dark Sight. The beam fired straight at the exit portal. The rock above it collapsed, blocking up the portal. "It would appear that we are trapped here." Grendel said, firing a elemental composition arrow at the dragon. Again, it was easily blocked. Athena drew her bow back and prepared to launch a hundred arrows into the air. However, the dragon's tail hit her before she could use the skill and she slammed into the wall. Grendel hurriedly healed her and casted magic guard. However, even the shield could not block the dragon's next attack, which came in the form of a claw slashing downwards. Grendel was thrown back and healed himself again. He said, "This battle is going to take much longer than we expected......" and went back into battle. Part 2: Ivan "Arrrggghhhh!!!" the pain caused by the absorption of Ivan's soul was too hard to bear and he collapsed to the ground, writhing in pain. By now his entire torso was covered in the black dragonskin and spikes had started to grow out of his back. The Dark Dragon encouraged him on, "Do not give up! Remember, the fate of the entire world lies in your hands!" Ivan shouted in pain, "I won't lose to this Demon Dragon!" and concentrated his energy on his torso, changing it back to normal, little by little. He could only watch helplessly as the Demon Dragon fought the job masters, dishing out serious damage. They were landing very few hits on the Demon Dragon though. Ivan was hoping that the rest of his party would come. "Come on...... Guys! I can't hold out much longer over here!" he thought and kept transforming his body back to normal. Part 3: Alexis & Roy Roy yelled, "Arrrrrgggghhh!!!!!!" It felt like his heart was being ripped apart. Alexis immediatly went over to him, asking, "What's wrong?" Roy replied painfully, "My heart...... It feels like its being ripped apart......" The Twin Dragon's voice appeared, saying, "It would appear that your friend has completely lost himself. I can sense a furious battle raging deep in the depths of the island's dungeon. The Dark Dragon is the king over all dragons. Should he get hurt or into trouble, all the other dragon hosts will feel the pain. Wait, I'm getting a message from the Dark Dragon." Roy gaped and asked, "What is it?" The Twin Dragon replied, "Your friend is telling us to go assist him. He is saying, "Defeat the Demon Dragon!" I would encourage you to hurry. The Demon Dragon is only in its first form right now. Should it reach its third form, the entire world will be destroyed by its sheer power." Alexis gaped and quickly pulled Roy towards her, telling him, "We'd better hurry! Ivan is in trouble!". She pulled out a scroll and muttered an incantation, teleporting them to Sleepywood. Part 4: Keichii A magician burst in through the door of the potion shop, yelling frantically, "All magicians go to Sleepywood right now! Grendel needs your help to defeat a powerful dragon deep in the depths of the dungeon!" Keichii, overhearing it, thought, "It must be Ivan!" and pulled out a scroll, muttering an incantation. He arrived at Sleepywood the next second, just meeting Roy and Alexis. Part 5: Quiet14 & Yotam "So you're saying Ivan turned into a monster!?" Yotam gaped, awestruck at Quiet14's story. "Yeah. We'd better go help him!" Quiet14 said. "Okay, I don't like him much, but I can't just sit here doing nothing when the world is about to be destroyed!" Yotam replied, retrieving a scroll from his bag. Grabbing hold of Quiet14's arm, he muttered an incantation and they were teleported to Sleepywood. Part 6: SonicBoom49 & KHmasta "Your friend turned into a monster eh?" KHmasta said, apparently very surprised. "Yeah. I need to go help him." SonicBoom49 said, heading for the boat. "Now hold on a sec here, you'll be monster fodder if you go there alone. I'm coming with you." KHmasta shouted behind him. SonicBoom49 replied, "Thanks, I'll need all the help I can get." Khmasta took a teleport rock from his bag and grabbed SonicBoom49, saying, "Onwards to Sleepywood!" The next moment, they materialised in Sleepywood. Quiet14 noticed him and immediatly ran to hug him. Part 7: Edward & Alaric "Hey Ed, one of our guildmates just went mad. He says there's a dragon rampaging around the dungeons and if someone doesn't kill it fast, the world will be destroyed." Alaric said. Edward replied, shocked, "No way...... So it does exist...... Come on, we're going." he grabbed his Metus and started for the building exit. Once outside, he pulled out a scroll and teleported off to Sleepywood, leaving Alaric behind. "Hey, man......" Alaric sighed and took a scroll from his bag, also leaving for Sleepywood. |
